Dr. Chenyang (Jason) Wei is Senior Managing Director of Zenity Holdings and Head of Zenity Holdings New York. With total assets valued at $70 billion under management, Zenity holds under its umbrella a number of innovation-driven public companies in China, including China Fortune Land Development (CFLD) which is recognized as China’s leading industrial city developer. Besides his active role in Zenity Holdings’ over sea development, Dr. Wei also serves as Professor of Practice at People’s Bank of China School of Finance at Tsinghua University.
Prior to his current position, he was Head of Credit Research at American International Group (AIG), reporting to AIG’s Chief Credit Officer. His team conducted market surveillance and fundamental research covering AIG’s multi-billion credit portfolios (+$300bn). Before AIG, he was a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and earlier an Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. His experience in the regulatory domain includes U.S. bank stress testing, credit surveillance and model validation, bank governance and compensation reform, etc. His research articles were published in top-tier academic or policy journals including Review of Financial Studies and Economic Policy Review. Dr. Wei is currently Chairman of Board of The Chinese Finance Association (TCFA), the largest global association of Chinese finance professionals with 6000+ members worldwide. He is former TCFA President between 2014 and 2015. He founded TCFA Best Paper program in 2006 and TCFA Best Paper Symposium in 2010, TCFA’s flagship academic programs. Dr. Wei is also a Board member of Tsinghua School of Economics and Management North-America Alumni Association. He is a regular presenter at academic/regulatory/industrial conferences, and has done executive teaching for a number of institutions including People Bank of China School of Finance (PBCSF) at Tsinghua University, Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF), Cheung Kung Graduate School of Business, Moody’s, etc. Dr. Wei holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Stern School of Business at New York University, a M.S. in Economics from University of Texas at Austin, and a B.A. (Finance) from Tsinghua University. |
